Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Mix corn syrup, eggs, sugar, butter and vanilla using a spoon. Stir in pecans. Pour filling into pie crust.
Bake on the center rack of the oven for 60-70 minutes (see tips for doneness, below). Cool for 2 hours on a wire rack before serving.
Tips for doneness: Pie is done when center reaches 200 degrees F. Tap center surface of pie lightly it should spring back when done. If edges of the crust are getting too browned, cover the edge with foil or pie crust cover.
