Chop bacon and crisp it in a 2 quart pot. Set aside and boil the small-cubbed peeled potatoes. Chop celery and set aside.
Pour 1 cup chicken broth, 2 cups cream, minced clams, potatoes, bacon, 2 Tablespoons garlic, and 1/2 package cream cheese together and simmer on low trying not to boil.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Tip: Don't let the temperature get too hot to prevent a grainy taste.
